Founding goals and purposes
- Establish and maintain a communication network for Home Support Agencies in NB for the purpose of sharing ideas and providing support.
- To act as a liaison with other health care organizations.
- To enhance the profession of the Home Support Worker (HSW) by providing education to the public.
- To encourage and promote the development of service and training standards for HSW in NB.
- To act as a consultant to agencies, individuals, provincial associations and government at all levels on issues related to Home Support services.
- To study legislation and policy which affect HSW and clients and take appropriate action for improvement in such legislation and policy.
- To attempt to standardize the terminology in the Home Support system.
- To study the cost effectiveness of Home Support versus institutionalization.
- To approach government in an organized fashion with common concerns about Home Support services for the people of NB.
- To provide opportunities for members to participate in conferences, seminars and other educational endeavors.
